I advocate proportional representation, which would actually empower the fly over country like never before. I believe that it is fundamentally unfair that there are only two parties to choose from when voting (which is obviously a result of the first-past-the-post system). If 10% of the vote for one party meant 10% of the seats in Congress, then every single vote in the country would count. If 31% supported the Libertarian Party, 32% supported The Democratic Party and 33% supported The Republican Party, in Idaho, then all those votes would be added to the nation-wide count. In the current system, 63% of the votes would not matter at all. I support party-list elections for Congress, personal campaigns for regional elections and Presidential elections.Jacobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14563739841535780915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221405275974541103.post-17254830858104979602008-11-03T13:52:00.000-05:002008-11-03T13:52:00.000-05:00I agree that human “resources” are in a crisis. If the system was no longer a issue then the fly over country would really have no say in the election.Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11707747781007743555noreply@blogger.com
